Hi, I’m David with SunSmart Roofing. One thing that I always hear people get wrong is that they’re installing a true system from Owens Corning. The fact is, if you don’t install an engineered Ridge along with ice and water Owens Corning underlayment, and the shingle, you don’t have a true system. So what does that mean to you? It means that you’re going to have multiple warranties on your roof, not a system approach. Conversely, we install a true system, starting with the underlayment. Followed by ice and water, the field shingle, the ventilation, and the engineered Ridge. This is a true system, 100% by Owens Corning. Lastly, you want to make sure that your system has a manufacturer’s warranty for life. Call SunSmart roofing today if you have more frequently asked questions!

Hi, this is Christian with SunSmart Roofing. I’m here to answer one of the most frequently asked questions. Why should I work with a roofer with insurance? One of the very first things that you want to ask your roofer is about their insurance policy. What they should give you is a certificate of liability insurance. And you’re going to want to look that over and make sure it’s correct. Now, another step that you could take is to possibly even call the insurer to make sure. It’s still current. It’s important for homeowners because you could run into instances where they’re doing the job, and somebody could get hurt. Lastly, the contractor you’re working with is not insured, it could leave the homeowner liable for any kind of injuries. So work with somebody who has insurance to protect you, protect your property and make sure that the job goes smoothly. I hope that answers your question. Hi, my name is Christian. I’m one of the roofing consultants at SunSmart Roofing. I’m here to answer the question, what is a roof inspection? A roof inspection is something that you’re going to want to get every one to two years for continued maintenance.

There’s no surprise that damages would result from heavy winds or hail. Pretty frequently, when the hailstorms come through, they come through overnight. And some people might not even know that they have been damaged. So it is very important to get that roof inspection. Some roofers do what’s called a 12-to-20-point inspection.

One thing that SunSmart Roofing does is a free 37-point inspection. Whether that’s somebody up on your roof. Inspecting or by one of our drone pilots who flies over the roof and does a digital scan of the roof. This will detect any kind of storm-related or any other kind of damage. We will then review and present our findings to you.

Lastly, whether your roof’s in great condition or whether it’s time to probably get it looked at being a repair or replacement. If you’d like to go ahead and get one of those inspections set up, go ahead and give us a call. Or visit our website to get that process started. I hope that answered your question today.

They were using the leaf blower to blow up their roof, curling up the shingles, and actually ripped off a full sheet of shingles, called their insurance company, and unfortunately, it did not have insurance. So they had to come out of pocket for that. In summary, you should always consult with a trusted roofing expert on best practices for cleaning your roof or making sure that your roof has proper installation.

As a homeowner, the easiest way to know if you have storm damage on your roof is to obviously just go outside, take a few steps on your sidewalk and look up on your roof.
